Treatment of Myopic School Children

Abstract
Nineteen school children with myopia were treated by the instillation of Myostar during 10 weeks. Of these 37 eyes, the. visual acuity incrased: in 18 eyes (48.7%), decrased in 2 eyes (5.4%) and .remained stationary in 17 eyes (45.9%). Errors. of refraction, - determined by the skiascopy, ameliorated in 24 eyes. (65.7%); aggravated in 3 eyes (8.1%) and, remained unchanged. in 10 eyes (26.2%).
As the control, 8 children with myopia_ were. given instillation of normal -saline and were examined 10 ;weeks later. Visual acuity, increased in -6 -eyes (37.5%),., .stationary. in 6, eyes. and decreased in 4 eyes (25.0%). Errors of refraction improved in 4 eyes .(25.0_%), ..remained.. unchanged in. 10 eyes (62.5%) and became .worse-in 2 eyes (12.-;5%).
